Solar Eruption May 1, 2010

Lovely image captured by the system STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory) NASA. The picture shows a remarkable solar flare observed in the UV band. Note the helium ionization (heated to 60,000 ° C) in the form of plasma prepared according to the magnetic field lines.
Explosions of this kind occur every day on our star and part of the normal solar dynamo.
